Upwey House is one of my absolute favourite wedding venues in Dorset. Set in the heart of the countryside just outside Weymouth, it has everything you could want—gorgeous gardens, elegant interiors, and stunning views across the valley. Whether you're having an intimate ceremony in the Drawing Room or saying your vows outdoors under the gazebo, every corner is picture-perfect. At in some Alpacas and garden games and your day is set!
The Alverbank, Gosport, Hampshire
The Alverbank Hotel in Gosport is such a hidden gem on the Hampshire coast. With sea views over the Solent and a peaceful garden ceremony space, it’s a dream for natural, relaxed wedding photos. I love how close everything is—from the historic interiors to the beachfront just steps away—making it super easy to capture a variety of beautiful backdrops. The team there is always friendly and laid-back, which helps the whole day flow smoothly and stress-free for everyone.
Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, Dorset
Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens is honestly one of the most magical wedding venues in Dorset. It feels like stepping into another world—with lush greenery, tropical plants, and winding garden paths that make every photo feel unique. Old Milking Parlour, Cavokay House, near Sherborne
The Old Milking Parlour at Cavokay House is one of those venues that truly feels personal. The Gaggle of Geese in Buckland Newton between Dorchester and Sherborne is one of Dorset’s quirkiest and most fun wedding venues! It’s a proper countryside pub with a big heart—think relaxed vibes, tipi receptions, and stunning fields for golden hour portraits. Poole Guildhall is one of my favourite registry offices. Located in the heart of Poole's historic Old Town, this Grade II* listed Georgian building offers a stunning ceremony room with high ceilings, large windows, and elegant chandeliers—perfect for natural light photography. The cobbled streets and nearby quay provide beautiful backdrops for couple portraits.
Nothe Fort, Weymouth, Dorset
Nothe Fort in Weymouth is such a unique and historic wedding venue right by the sea. As a photographer, I’m always inspired by its dramatic coastal views of Weymouth Beach and Portland and rugged stone architecture—perfect for couples who want a mix of history and natural beauty. The outdoor lawns and the nearby beach offer amazing spots for romantic portraits, while the Fort itself gives your wedding a truly memorable and distinctive vibe. Italian Villa, Compton Acres- Poole
The Italian Villa at Compton Acres is a truly magical venue. Although just a stones throw from Poole Town Centre, it is easy to be fully immersed in the experience and suddenly feel you are in Tuscany. The Villa sits above formal Italian gardens so guests step out on to the terrace that over looks a long pool, fountain, urns, statues and floral displays! You can have the ceremony in the gardens or in one of the rooms of the villa. There is an abundance of photo opportunities in the Japanese gardens, stone steps, balustrades and lily ponds.
Whether you are getting married in spring with blossoms and fresh greens, summer with brightly coloured borders truly giving you the sense of being in Italy, or Autumn with subtle warm tones of the Japanese Maple, this venue has it all.
